Barn weddings, in general, are full of character and the venue itself adds even more charm to your wedding theme.

We started the day very early since I needed plenty of time to capture every single detail. The theme was “Winter Wonderland” – chic and elegant. All white, silver, blue and lush green was the tasteful colour combination that brightened up the dark walls of the Cooling Castle Barn. Blue-green succulents and eryngiums with white roses were certainly perfect for this wedding theme. All the bouquets, boutonnieres and table centrepieces were created by incredible West Malling Flowers. Three little fairy princesses were without a doubt the stars of the show. Dressed like little garden Fairies and geared up with a special magic wand each they were unstoppable. Everyone had forgotten about the cold winter winds because there was so much love to share. This certainly was a beautiful celebration to share with family and close friends.

Charlotte’s engagement diamond ring made an even bigger statement sitting next to Charlotte’s most favoured perfume. You can’t possibly go wrong with Jimmy Choo fragrance.

For her “something blue” Charlotte decided to wear her grandmother’s blue sapphire pendant. This was a delicate addition to the first dress she chose to get married in. Charlotte fell in love with her wedding dresses at first sight. She went to her local Luxury Bridal Boutique and there they were. All silk with delicate lace over the perfect dresses were waiting for this gorgeous bride to pick them up. Mark could not take his eyes off his bride the minute she walked down the stairs. As a matter of fact, everyone was in awe of the bride’s appearance.

We rushed outside just after the ceremony to catch the last few minutes of daylight that was left after the ceremony. Portraits of the couple in natural light are the best. Everyone knows, no kind of artificial lighting beats daylight. The old, yet charming walls of this 14th-century castle were the perfect backdrop for the portrait part of photography. It felt and looked like we were in a charming village with vineyards around us in the Italian province.

Straight after shooting the portrait section of the day, we were in time to sit down for speeches. Tears and laughter at the same time… everyone was emotional. Finally, she married her best friend!

Charlotte is an avid baker. She bakes the most amazing cakes. So it would only make sense for her to bake her own wedding cake! Every handmade detail, the design and carefully selected flavours made the cake extra special. The whole day was extra special because two best friends became a man and a wife forever.

Thank you Charlotte and Mark for having me at your wedding. Thank you for the honour to document your special day.

Love, laughter and light
